Arah's New Necklace

One of Arah's jobs is going with YB to the farmer's market on Saturdays. Besides vegetables people sell all kinds of things; soaps and t-shirts and woven mats. She found a carved bone necklace she couldn't resist and learned that Maui carved a fishook and caught the Hawaiian Islands...and you thought they were formed through volcanic eruptions!
She later discovered that the symbol she had chosen meant the joining of two cultures. "Oh, that's me!" she said.
Someone in passing said Arah looks like a model. Another person, after studying YB and Arah's features, said Arah's mom must be VERY beautiful!!! I had to laugh at that!
