Last Christmas I sadly passed by beautiful Hawaiian wreaths because they were so expensive, but this year my friend from church Rajean applied for a permit to pick native plants on Saddle road. We spent the day gathering ohia blossoms which look a little like roses, and fernish plants and tiny berries of all colors. Then we sorted them and made our own works of art!
