Even in Hawaii mangoes are expensive, unless you pick them from the side of a beautiful twisting road lined by mango trees. True, it is a little messy, but we found enough with no worms or bruises that Mom canned seven jars of mango chutney to go with our samosas through the hard winter ahead......um, that is just a little joke for our Michigan friends.
