The Hilo Yaght Club issued our family permit for the year and we tried out our new life jackets. We learned how to tie 3 new knots, narrowly avoided running into the racing paddle boats and were helped so much by a nice guy named Richard who ensured we set up our sail correctly and didn't drag the bottom of the boat against the sand and rocks.
